The B.Com programme at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth is a uniquely designed programme that combines all aspects of the commercial world with the life learning facets.
The programme is structured into different categories like Core courses, Discipline Specific Electives, Foundation Courses, Self Immersion Courses, Proficiency Enhancing Courses and Minor Courses. The perfect blend of a variety of courses will groom a CVV graduate to be unique and self-sufficient and attain a progressive career in today’s competitive, corporate world.
For the Elective category, the University follows a flexible system wherein students can choose courses based on their preferences from a wide variety of electives, thereby opening up the possibility for specialisation in specific areas like Professional Accounting, Taxation, Marketing, Banking and Insurance, etc.
The courses are handled by expert Faculty who bring in years of experience in teaching in India and USA. The courses are delivered using highly sophisticated technologies and innovative pedagogy, yet rooted in traditional Indian values. Greater prominence is given for experiential learning in commerce and allied subjects.
The syllabus of the major courses parallels that of many professional examinations like Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CWA, CFA, CS, etc., and also provides a strong base for career opportunities by training students to take up professional roles such as Financial Analyst, Accounts officer, Investment banker, Tax practitioner, Auditor, entrepreneur, etc.
These are courses that the students choose based on their interest, outside of their core discipline. They include technical, applied and interdisciplinary courses in the following streams, wherein students can develop multidimensional skills. These courses prepare students for life. The minor streams are designed in such a fashion that they will navigate the students and let them explore and discover their true life-interests in an informed fashion, leading to true mind expansion. Though there are a variety of courses to choose from, students must take up a minimum of six courses through the duration of their undergraduate study.
