Observing World Poetry Day at CVV
World Poetry Day was celebrated by the Grantha Club in collaboration with the School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems on 21 March 2022 with an open mic event. Everyone was encouraged to come and read out their favourite piece of poetry to the audience. Be it classics or modern, or poems written by our own budding poets, the stage was open to all. It received an overwhelming response with over 50 participants that included students and faculty of the university. Since language was not a barrier, the audience got to enjoy poetry from different languages like Hindi, Malayalam, English, Marathi and Tamil.
The event was hosted by Sreetirth K. K. (first-year BA BEd English Literature) and the faculty coordinator was Dr. Sandhya Shankar (Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies). The event garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience and requests for more such events were raised.
