Workshop On Problem-Solving And Ideation

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), organised a workshop on Problem Solving and Ideation’ on 14 Nov 2023 at Onakkoor Campus

The workshop was organised for the students to develop their problem-solving skills, strengthen their ability to evaluate and navigate complex situations and to inspire a culture of innovation through creative thinking. The participants would also understand the National Education Policy 2020 for startups, IPR and innovation. Students from the first year Computer Science and AI/ML branch attended the workshop. 

Dr. Savitesh Sharma (Professor, CVV-IST) introduced the speaker Dr. Avtar Singh, Chief Researcher, Adama Science and Technology University, Adama, Ethiopia. Dr. Avtar Singh initiated the session with an emphasis on the relevance and importance of understanding real-life problems of society and talking about real-life problems to others to come up with multiple solutions. He led the students to brainstorm on coming up with a specific solution to a problem he posed during his presentation. He pointedly mentioned that it is important to correctly pick up the problem and then come up with multiple solutions to the Problem. In his illustration, he advised that if there are multiple ideas to solve a particular problem, then one must look at what is feasible and the best fit for society to arrive at a perfect solution. The session ended with a discussion allowing the participants to clarify their doubts.

IIC members Mr. Athul Ravi, (Chemistry Lab Instructor-CVV-IST) and Mr. Mahesh  (Computer Programmer-CVV-IST) and Ms. Niveditha, IIC Student Coordinator (CVV-IST) coordinated the event. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Savitesh Sharma, President IIC.
