Wednesday Seminar – Swami Chinmayananda: A Trailblazer in Advaita Teaching

When a talk is titled ‘Jñāna Gangā, Jñāna Yajña – Swami Chinmayananda: A Trailblazer in Advaita Teaching’, it is but natural that the listener expects very exclusive inputs from the experienced speaker. This is precisely what happened in the Wednesday Seminar session on 5th February 2020 at CVV. In her inimitable style Dr. Arundhati Mehta-Sundar, Academic Outreach Coordinator at Chinmaya International Foundation, elucidated the journey of an inspirational spiritual master, Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. The audience got glimpses of the different time frames of discovery, decision making, expression and growth of Gurudev’s spiritual journey, as Dr. Arundhati highlighted milestones and salient features of his yajñas.

Motivated by the Ganges to flow incessantly, Gurudev embarked on this tireless journey to fulfil his task of educating the masses about Advaita Vedanta. Gurudev’s audience comprised of all who were deprived of organised spiritual experiences. In keeping with his indomitable spirit, Gurudev touched the lives of lakhs of spiritual seekers across the globe. He organised study for different age groups through Balavihar for children, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra for youth, Study Groups for adults, with special attention to women through Devi Groups. Chinmaya Mission has a global presence with continuously energised seekers coming into the fold egged on by the dynamic life of such a colossal spiritual teacher. An orator par excellence, he exudes positivity.

Gurudev’s exemplary journey was innovatively portrayed in her presentation by Dr. Arundhati leaving behind an emotion of fulfilment in the gathering.
