Vigilance Awareness Week on ‘Vigilant India, Prosperous India’

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex anti-corruption body mandated to fight corruption for ensuring integrity in administration. Every year it celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week, coinciding with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the iron man of India. This year the Vigilance Awareness Week was celebrated from 27 October 2020 to 2 November 2020, on the theme ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat’ (Vigilant India, Prosperous India). The CVC mandates all government and government-related bodies to participate. As directed by the UGC, it was celebrated at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth through a number of activities.

31 October 2020: Recitation of the Integrity Pledge. The faculty of CVV took the integrity pledge during the faculty meeting, while the students took the pledge during the first class of the day

2 November 2020: There were two talks organised by Assistant Professor Nitin Kumar for the CVV family.

  • 3:30 to 4:00 pm: Smt. Krishna S., Central Government Counsel, High Court of Kerala spoke on ‘What to do When we Face Corruption in Public Offices’.
  • 4:00 to 5:00 pm: Dr. Ajay Kumar, International Tax Consultant, PB First Global Tax, Dubai, spoke on ‘The Limits in the Fight Against Corruption’.
