University Day Celebrations 2020

Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) celebrated University Day at the CEG campus on 16th January. Ambassador Rajiv Bhatia and Mrs. Kumkum Bhatia were the chief guests for the evening. They were welcomed with a poornakumbham and vedaghosha.

The event began on an auspicious note with the lighting of a lamp and Vedic chanting by Dr. Gopala Desikan, Assistant Professor, School of Philosophy, Psychology & Scientific Heritage at CVV and Dr. Nagendra Pavana, Assistant Professor at CVV’s School of Vedic Knowledge Systems. Students of CVV mellifluously rendered the kulagitam.

Vice-chancellor Dr. Nagaraj Neerchal gave a warm welcome to the Chief Guests and the CVV family members. He then presented the University report for the past year. The university report showcased the growing pace of the University, its new programmes and the achievement of students. Faculty and staff members were also felicitated for their achievements by Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati, Acharya, Kerala Sandeepany.

Ambassador Rajiv Bhatia, with a career spanning 37 years in the Indian Foreign Services, has served as Ambassador to Myanmar, Mexico and as High Commissioner to Kenya, South Africa and Lesotho. He spoke on the position of India in a changing world and presented a diplomatic perspective. Mrs. Kumkum Bhatia spoke on The Joy of Learning.

  

The third edition of Chinmayasri, the CVV biannual newsletter was released at the hands of the Honourable MLA Anoop Jacob. Swami Sharadananda blessed the gathering with the benedictory address. The students presented a spectacular array of dance performances and songs on the theme, Dynamic Narratives of Incredible India, reflecting the diverse culture of India. The proceedings came to a close with a vote of thanks by Dr. Soumya, the Registrar.
