The Hero with a Thousand Faces

Lit-Magic 2022 – The Hero with a Thousand Faces was an inter-college, Indian superhero-themed literary event organised by the School of Linguistics and Literary Studies (LLS), and coordinated by the BA BEd English Literature students. The fest was held on 03 December 2022 from 9:30 am to 3 pm The main motive of Lit-Magic was to raise awareness about the relevance and beauty of literature and celebrate it through various activities and games. The fest had five interesting events, ranging from a quiz to movie poster designing and different games organised for the audience.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp during the inauguration and the keynote speech by Mr. Justin Mathew, the script and screenplay writer of the hit Indian superhero movie, Minnal Murali in the presence of Dr. Sunitha Grandhee (Dean-Academics) and Dr. Sampath Kumar (Head, School of LLS).

The winners of each event were awarded certificates and cash prizes during the valedictory at the hands of Subedar Manesh PV, Shourya Chakra, who fought bravely during the attacks of 26/11 in Mumbai – a real life hero.

Quizbee, the quiz competition, had 55 participants from various schools and colleges and Tell a Tale, the storytelling competition, saw 20 storytellers narrating self-written stories based on Indian superheroes. 15 students participated in Avatar, the mask designing competition, while the online film poster designing received 15 participants with a total number of participants reaching almost 110.

LitFest was a successful event with almost 200 attendees and exciting games and competitions.
