Staff and Faculty Orientation Programme 2023

Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to university) organised a staff and faculty Orientation Program on 16th September 2023 at its Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula campus in Veliyand. The programme aimed to acquaint newcomers and reorient the existing faculty and staff members with the institution’s mission and activities. Prof. Ajay Kapoor, Vice Chancellor of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) extended a warm welcome to the participants.

Dr. Apparao Mukkamala (Managing Trustee, CVV Trust) elaborated on the campus facilities and services available to students and faculty. He highlighted the ongoing campus construction work and povided detailed information about the campus’s features and amenities, focusing on its state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Swami Advayananda, President of Chinmaya International Foundation, shed light on the educational legacy of the Chinmaya Mission and the significance of the University’s inception. He provided insights into the academic traditions and values upheld by the Chinmaya Mission. He elaborated on the vision and mission of CVV emphasizing its commitment to holistic education. He elaborated on the University’s founding principles and the importance of integrating spiritual and ethical values into education. In his closing remarks, Swami Advayananda emphasized the significance of CVV’s role in shaping future leaders with a strong foundation in Indian culture and values. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to providing a world-class education that nurtures the mind and spirit.

The programme aimed to familiarise everyone with the University’s administrative activities. Prof. Ajay Kapoor introduced participants to the key areas of the institution’s functioning. Prof. T. Ashokan, Dean of Academics, then discussed each of the University’s schools, shedding light on their roles and specialities. This served as an excellent opportunity for the attendees to gain insight into the academic structure of CVV.

Prof. Sudheer Babu, Principal of the CVV Institute of Science and Technology (CVV-IST), provided detailed information about the newly inaugurated Institute, emphasising its significance and offerings. Dean Research, Prof. Girish Kumar, explained the research activities and initiatives happening at the university, highlighting the institution’s commitment to promoting research and innovation.

Dr. Sunitha Gandhi, Dean of Lifelong Learning and Wellness, Dr. P. Rajendran, Director of Accreditation and Quality Systems, and Assistant Professor Srinath Mohandas also engaged in discussions about various aspects of the University.

Overall, the orientation programme was a comprehensive event that introduced all participants to the functioning and vision of CVV, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the institution and its various schools and departments. It was an enriching experience that underscored the significance of Chinmaya Mission’s principles in the context of higher education. The programme also showcased the progress and initiatives undertaken by the University in various domains.

Following this, all the attendees visited the new facility under construction at Onakkoor. All the members paid a floral tribute at Pujya Gurudev Swmai Chinmayananda’s portrait.
