This was a spelling bee competition held for students from Grade 9 to Grade 12 on 22nd November 2023.

The event began with CVV students reciting a prayer, followed by the official inauguration by the lighting of the lamp. Kusum Kataria (second year B.A. B.Ed. The competition was presided over by Dr. Sandhya Shankar and Dr. Hari M. G. (Assistant Professors, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies), who served as the spellmasters for the event. SPELLBOUND comprised three distinct rounds: Preliminaries, Semi-Finals, and the Finals.

In the Preliminary round, 72 students from 10 different schools in the Ernakulam district of Kerala participated. This stage involved a written dictation to identify the top 36 semi-finalists. The Semi-Finals, conducted orally, saw the 36 qualified students divided into six groups. The Semi-Finals took place simultaneously in two locations, with three groups in each overseen by Dr. Sandhya and Dr. Hari and Dr. Vishaka Venkat (Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies) and Ms. Lakshmi Anil, a PhD Scholar at CVV.

From each group, one student advanced to the finals. Abbia Rose D’Silva, a Grade 11 student from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, emerged as the winner of SPELLBOUND. Shivadutt S.
