On 19 February 2021, the students, faculty and staff of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth celebrated the 391st birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event was held at Chinmayam and also streamed online.
The event started with the lighting of the lamp and the garlanding of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s photograph by Dean Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Dr. L. Sampath Kumar (Assistant Professor and Head, School of Linguistic and Literary Studies) and Br. Ved Chaitanya. Shivam Raikar (third-year BBA) then sang a song in praise of Shivaji Maharaj.
Havisha M. (second-year B.A. Applied Psychology) and Samana M. (second-year IM Vyakarana) presented a phenomenal dance performance. Historian and orator Sri. Raviraj Paradkar spoke on the topic ‘War Strategies of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’. He elaborated on the various war strategies used by Shivaji Maharaj and explained how all his plans ensured his people’s safety.
Next, Sreenidhi Sriram (third-year B.A. Applied Psychology) rendered a melodious song called ‘He Hindu Narsimha Prabho Shivaji Raja’ in praise of Shivaji Maharaj.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Nagaraj Neerchal spoke a few words to commemorate the great warrior. The event concluded with a vote of thanks in Sanskrit by Rahul Sharma (third-year B.A. Sanskrit) followed by the shanti mantra.
