A Five-Day Crash-Course on Sandhi was organised by CVV as a part of the Sanskrit Month Celebration 2020. The course was conducted from 24 to 28 July 2020. The resource person was Dr. L. Sampath Kumar, Assistant Professor and Head of School of Linguistics and Literary Studies.
The course was conducted online via the Zoom App every day from 10.00 am to 11.00 am. Over 600 hundred candidates registered for the course. The participants belonged to different age groups, ranging from school children to college students, a few Sanskrit teachers and some senior citizens eager to learn the language.
A majority of the candidates, both young and old, shared through emails and calls that the course was relevant and very useful. They also opined that they are looking forward to attending more such courses offered by CVV.
“I used a PPT only in the first session. From the second session onwards I used a whiteboard App, mainly because of time constraints. Surprisingly, all the candidates welcomed it. It was a challenge to cater to learners from different categories. Altogether, it was a new experience for me. I learnt a few tricks and skills that will be useful in my future online teaching,” said Dr. Sampath Kumar at the end of the course.
