Republic Day 2022 at CVV

The 73rd Indian Republic celebrations at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) began with a prayer by the host for the morning, Lakshmi Sivaraman, (final-year, MSc Applied Psychology).

Dr. Sreevalsa Kumar (Dean, Academics) unfurled the national flag amid the rendering of patriotic chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’ This was followed by the proud rendition of the national anthem by the students of the Vedanta Sadhaka Course.

Dr. Sreevalsa then delivered an address for the day where he offered a psychological perspective to how we ought to celebrate this Republic Day. He spoke about the powers of introspection, of transforming oneself which eventually leads to the transformation and building of the nation.

Swami Advayananda, (Trustee, CVV Trust) addressed the gathering emphasizing the wisdom of Indic thought that encompasses individual, national and universal transformation. He guided all on how we should take responsibility for ourselves, our family and expand to such an extent that the entire nation becomes a part of our concept of Self. He reiterated that it is in service to this great nation that one will realise the essence of Vedanta itself!

Next, the students of MSc Applied Psychology rendered the immortal patriotic song, ‘Ae Watan” followed by a crisp vote of thanks by Ms. Zeenath Jazeel (final-year, MSc Applied Psychology).

The programme came to a close with a prayer and the soulful rendition of Vande Mataram by the students of the Vedanta Sadhaka Course which rekindled patriotism inside all present.
