Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) in collaboration with Samskrita Bharati organised a certificate course titled ‘Itihasa Pravesha’. The aim was to promote the reading of Valmiki Ramayana and the Mahabharata among the Sanskrit lovers. The sessions were held every Saturday and Sunday from 5 – 6.30 pm, from 26 December 2020 to 24 April 2021. Of the 32 participants, eleven were NRI. Samskrita Bharati faculty Sri. Sasi P. R., Smt. Vandana J. and Smt. Divya P. G. along with Dr. M. Sudarshan Chiplunkar (Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies (LLS)) were the faculty for the course.
Prof. Gauri Mahulikar (Dean of Faculty, CVV) inaugurated the course. Dr. Nanda Kumar (Akhila Bharateeya Samparka Pramukh, Samskrita Bharati) was also present. Apart from regular classes, on 3 March 2021 a guest lecture by Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya (Assistant Professor, School of LLS) on आदिकवेः वाग्विलासः was organised. On 21 March 2021 Dr. Jahnavi Bidnur from Pune delivered a guest lecture on यदिहास्ति तदन्यत्र यन्नेहास्ति न तत्क्वचित्. Prof. Gauri Mahulikar delivered a guest lecture on पञ्चकं ना स्मरेन्नित्यम् on 18 April 2021.
The course also included regular assignments leading up to an online test on 1 May 2021. A Completion Certificate will be issued to the participants who meet the required course components. The rest of the participants will be awarded Participation Certificates.
