Dr. Pramod Dinakar, Associate Professor and Head, School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems (EGCS), was invited by the Rotary Club of Piravom River Valley, Club ID 85676, RID 3201, Piravom to deliver a lecture on ‘Impact of Migration of Students of Kerala to Foreign Countries’ on 12 August 2024, 6.30 p.m., at the Rotary Club Auditorium, Piravom.
Dr. Pramod Dinakar started his lecture by presenting facts and figures on the extent of migration of students from Kerala to foreign countries over the past few decades, and the results of the migration surveys conducted by various governmental agencies and NGOs. He elaborated on the impact of migration on demographic, economic, social, educational and political dimensions. A robust discussion on the topic followed.
The event had around 60 participants which included Rotarians, various NGO activists, ward councillors and political leaders, ASHA workers, officials and retired personnel from the government and private sector, etc.
