Session 53 (10 June 2021)
Dr. Madhavi Narsalay (Assistant Professor, Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai) spoke on ‘Perspectives from the Skanda Mahapurana’ on 10 June 2021 at the Open Learning for All series on Indian Knowledge Systems. The talk was well-received by the audience. The Skanda Mahapurana is the largest Mahapurana, a genre of eighteen Hindu religious texts. The text contains over 81,000 verses, and is of Kaumara literature, titled after Skanda, the son of Shiva and Parvati, who is also known as Murugan.
Session 54 (24 June 2021)
Dr. Prachi Moghe Assistant Professor, Centre of Archeology, University of Mumbai) examined Parashara Smriti through its commentaries and explored its contemporary relevance as source literature on Dharma. Parashara Smriti is considered to be a discussion between Vyas and other sages regarding the laws relevant to the changing times.
