Festivals exist to illuminate our life with happiness and love. The true essence of festival celebration arises when we celebrate with family. This time, the CVV Onam celebration was held online and celebrated with the new members of the CVV family, the UG batch of 2021-22. Called ‘Santhoshich-O-nam 2k21’, it was a student-led event organised by the Bharata Society on the afternoon of 27 August 2021.
The event commenced with a prayer by Ajith Krishnan (third-year BCom) followed by a welcome speech by Meera Nair (third-year BA Psychology). The event anchors were Aishwarya S. Raj (third-year BBA) and Krishna Veni Verma (second-year BCom).
The celebrations began with a two-minute video explaining the story behind the Onam festival in Kerala. Maveli’s character, performed by Supreetha Dattathri (second-year BA Psychology), was the highlight of the show. This was followed by a series of fun-filled events: Onam games (3), Onam music, Onam dance, wishes from the alumni and a slide show refreshing the memories of Onam 2019.
The games were conducted in four groups including faculty, freshers and students. The active and lively participation of the freshers won them the first position in all the games. During the event, there was a constant interaction between all the CVV-ians which made this show more memorable and entertaining.
At the end of the show, the organisers received heart-warming feedbacks from freshers. Most of the freshers commented that they already felt like a part of the CVV family and had great fun with seniors and faculty. The event closed with a vote of thanks by Sangeetha S. (third-year BBA) and Shanti Mantra by Avani Prakash (second-year BBA).
