NFSI 2019 – Pre-Conference Workshops – Valedictory

The valedictory session of the pre-conference workshops for NFSI 2019 brought to a close two days of rigorous churning of ideas, intense discussion, and thoughtful introspection. Dr. Shilpa Pandit, Associate Professor, School of Philosophy, Psychology & Scientific Heritage, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth and NFSI 2019 Coordinator, presented a brief report of both the workshops, following which one participant each from both the sessions shared their experiences.

Both, Prof. Dharm Bhawuk and Prof. Kumar Ravi Priya also shared their comments and observations, emphasising that research was a way of exploring not just ideas but also one’s own self. They pointed out that in IKT, the focus was on the researcher and it should be seen not as something taxing or boring, but as a product of the researcher’s passion and quest for knowledge.

Both workshop coordinators shared their positive experiences during the workshops and how good they felt discussing research in the Indian context and Indian Knowledge Traditions in detail, to a receptive audience in an environment conducive to such knowledge-sharing. Finally, the participation certificates were distributed, followed by concluding remarks and a vote of thanks by Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Dean of CVV.
