National Gita Seminar Thodupuzha

Students of CVV presented papers at the National Gita Conference organised on the sidelines of Bhagavad Gītā Bhāṣya Pārāyaṇānjali 2023 at Thodupuzha Srikrishnaswamy Temple (29th September to 2nd October 2023).

  1. Kum. Vinamra Herle (B.A. Sanskrit Semester 5) and Kum. Hridya S. together presented a paper in Sanskrit on भगवद्गीता दृष्या – भारतीय साधुजनानां मार्गः (Indian saints and the marga in the light of the Bhagavad Gītā)
  2. Kum. Karthika Putuval (B.Sc. Applied Psychology Hons. Semester 3) presented a paper on the ‘Ladder of Fall’ as described in the Śrimad Bhagavad Gītā (2.62, 63) drawing parallels from Freudian psychology.
  3. Kum. Swathi Kannan (B.Sc. Applied Psychology Hons. Semester 3) presented a paper on ‘How Bhagavad Gītā can help young adults get over their distractions’ based on her study as part of an AICTE project.

Members of faculty Dr. Sampath Kumar L. (Head and Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies) and Shri. Srinath Mohandas (Assistant Professor, School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems) delivered lectures at the conference. While the former spoke on ‘Balancing material and spiritual pursuits based on insights from Bhagavad Gītā and Tirukkural’, the latter spoke on Karma Yoga and how it empowers individuals to perform different roles and identities in their daily lives effectively.
