Kerala Piravi Celebrated with ‘Manikyaveena’ Cultural Event

On 1st November 2023, the School of Linguistics and Literary Studies (LLS) at Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) celebrated Kerala Piravi Day 2023 at its CEG campus with an event titled ‘Manikyaveena’. The highlight of the programme was a cultural presentation by the students. The proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. L. Sampath Kumar (Head, School of LLS) along with the Chief Guest, Dr. Prasanna K. (Retired Principal of Govt. College Manimalakunnu), and Prof. C. Vijayan (Professor, CVV-IST). Lakshmi Prabha (first-semester B.Sc.B.Ed. Mathematics), delivered the welcome speech. Following that, Dr. Sampath gave the presidential address, and the Chief Guest delivered an insightful speech on Kerala Piravi and the values of life. Dr. Vijayan emphasised the importance of language and literature and gave a felicitation speech. The student cultural program included performances such as dance, recitations, group songs, and more. The programme concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
This event was coordinated by Harsha M. Pillai (Assistant Professor of Malayalam, School of LLS, along with Anagha S (first semester B.A.B.Ed.) as Student Coordinator.
