Shri. Karthik Sharma (Assistant Professor, School of Vedic Knowledge Systems, CVV) was also invited to present a paper at this esteemed event. Karthik presented a research paper on ‘bhāmatīvivaraṇaprasthānayoḥ prameyabhedaḥ’.

The school of advaita-vedānta has two sub-schools namely Bhāmatī school and Vivaraṇa School. The bhāmatī school emerged from the commentary titled bhāmatī authored by Vācaspatimiśra upon the Brahmasūtrabhāṣya of śaṅkarācārya. The Vivaraṇa school takes its name after the commentary of prakāśātmayati titled Vivaraṇa upon the text pañcapādikā authored by Padmapādācārya which itself is a commentary on Brahmasūtrabhāṣya. Even though both Bhāmatī school and Vivaraṇa School are in agreement with the fundamental concepts of advaita-vedānta, there are many methodological differences adopted by both these schools to justify the position of advaita-vedānta. In his paper, Karthik brought out 24 crux areas where Bhāmatī school and Vivaraṇa School differ from each other by referring to the texts like Pañcapādikā, Vivaraṇa, tatvadīpanam, ṝjuvivaraṇam, siddhāntaleśasaṅagraha, laghucandrikā, vedāntaparibhāṣā, vedāntaparibhāṣāsaṅgrahaBhāmatī and Kalpataru.
