Intercollegiate Fest Jabagadadash 5.0—A Grand Success

Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University conducted its annual intercollegiate and international fest, Jabagadadash 5.0, on 19th February 2024. The fest, held under the banner of Chinmaya Shanakaram, aimed at providing a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents and organisational skills while addressing the theme ‘The Voice of Social Justice’.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Kapoor, Dean of Research Prof. Girish Kumar, Br. Ved Chaitanya, and the student coordinators of the fest. Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajay Kapoor delivered the presidential address setting the tone for the fest.

Jabagadadash 5.0 featured a diverse range of events, both online and offline, curated and hosted by CVV clubs. Online events included a debugging competition, cartoon making/comic drawing competition, Sanskrit quiz, creative writing, and photography competitions. Offline events encompassed activities like the IPL auction, best management duo, solo singing, dance performances, mystery event, and a theme walk. The flagship event of the fest was the city-wide treasure hunt spread across Ernakulam, known as Uncharted 2.0, which tested participants’ problem-solving skills through three rounds of puzzles and clues.

– Kosmos, a fashion show in sync with the fest’s theme, showcased a blend of elegance and eco-consciousness, promoting Creative Sustainability.

– Taal se Taal, a captivating duet dance event, demonstrated harmony and artistic expression as two dancers moved in perfect synchrony, mesmerizing the audience with enchanting movements.

329 students from 62 colleges participated in the fest. Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences won the trophy for the highest number of registrations. Sacred Heart College, Thevara, was awarded the overall trophy.

Jabagadadash 5.0 was entirely student-organised under the guidance of faculty Dr. Abha Mohan, Dr. Sandhya Sankar, and Dr. Vishaka Venkat. Steve Romy and Kunal Girish Sheth served as overall student coordinators, while Durga Manju Rajeev held the position of Treasurer.

The fest was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to exhibit their talents while fostering a spirit of camaraderie and creativity among participants from various colleges.
