On 7 January 2023, first-year and second-year BBA (Hons.) students visited ‘Paul and Mike’ a chocolate production unit. Paul And Mike is a brother concern of Synthite Limited, Kadayiruppu, Kolenchery, Kerala. They grow and ferment cocoa on their own farms in Kochi and Coimbatore. During the visit students visited the cocoa farm and the chocolate factory in Cochin. They saw the various steps involved in the making of chocolate using raw cocoa beans. Mr. Omkar Dhabane, R& D and Production Manager, Paul And Mike, described the entire production process to the students.
The School of Contemporary Knowledge Systems organised this industrial visit. Dr. Bindusree A. R. (Programme Director-BBA, School of CKS) and Mr. Jayesh P. (Assistant Professor, School of CKS) accompanied the students. The student coordinators were Mr. Ayush Anand and Ms. Niveditha P. K. (first-year BBA).
The students got an opportunity to understand the market scenarios, the importance of quality in manufacturing food products etc. from this visit.
