Session 31 (1 October 2020): Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Dean of Faculty, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV), spoke on Nirukta: The Etymological Studies in the Veda. She expounded on the science of interpreting words based on etymology to reveal their exact meanings and significance in the text.
Session 32 (8 October): Dr. Nagendra Pavana, Assistant Professor at CVV’s School of Vedic Knowledge Systems gave an interesting talk on Vyakarana—Linguistics from the Veda. He elaborated on the grammatical tradition of the Vedas that has enabled its systematic propagation and correct comprehension through many millennia.
Session 33 (15 October): Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya, Associate Professor at CVV’s School of Ethics, Governance and Social Systems, spoke on Triskandha Jyotisha—An Overview of Indian Astronomy and Astrology (Part 1). Jyotisha Shastra as a scientific discipline comprising of astronomy, mathematics, arboreal medicine and architecture, among others was explained. He also traced the origin and evolution of astronomy and astrology in ancient India.
Session 34 (22 October): Shri Nithin Sridhar, popular author, speaker and journalist, spoke on Goddess Chandika—A Vedantic Perspective. The Vedantic import of the story of Goddess Chandika (Durga), whose victory over Asura-s is celebrated as Navaratri across the world, was explained in a succinct manner.
Session 35 (29 October): Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya Associate Professor at CVV’s School of Ethics, Governance and Social Systems, continued the talk on Triskandha Jyotisha—An Overview of Indian Astronomy and Astrology (Part 2).
