After the welcome accorded to all by Dr. Nagaraj, Swami Advayananda spoke about how we are all essentially children of Mother Earth and how we are expanding our family by planting saplings. Smt. Indu Nair and Shri Satheesh thanked the organisers for the initiative and promised their continued support to all such future endeavours.

Prof. Gauri Mahulikar thanked all the organisers, participants, students and appreciated the officials from the Agricultural Department of the Government of Kerala for their cooperation in making the project happen. She said the Vedas recognised Earth as the mother and all of us as her children thus making it our responsibility to take good care of her.

The programme concluded with the plantation drive wherein almost 250 saplings were planted at their assigned locations. Everyone was encouraged to take regular care of the plants to ensure their growth. The event was covered by ’24 News Channel’, a well-known TV channel in Kerala.
