Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) was invited to organise a Faculty Improvement Programme (FIP) for the faculty of Chinmaya Mission College, Kolazhy, Thrissur district. The FIP was held from 11 to 13 October 2021 and organised as part of consultancy services of the Department of Education.
Dr. Pramod Dinakar and Dr. Bindu M.P. (Assistant Professors, School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems) were the Resource Persons for the FIP conducted on site. It was attended by 54 faculty. The FIP was inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Sri. P. Krishnakumar, who then attended most of the sessions.
The FIP covered ‘New Curricular Perspectives in Higher Education’, ‘Innovative Methods of Teaching-Learning in Higher Education’, ‘Effective Student Engagement’, ‘Effective Communication for Teachers’, ‘Stress Management’ and ‘Value-based Education in the Contemporary Perspective’. The sessions were participatory and interactive in nature. Discussions, group activity presentation, role-plays, case analysis, etc. were some of the strategies that were adopted by the facilitators. The participants provided positive feedback about the sessions and many of them suggested that follow-up sessions be arranged.
