On 1st July 2023, a Faculty Development Programme on the theme ‘Creating a World-Class University’ was organised in Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV). Prof. Ravi Prakash (Ex VC JUIT, and Scientific Attache to the Indian High Commission Washington) and Prof. Nirupama Prakash (Director of Amity Institute of Social Sciences) were the chief guests for the programme. Prof. Ajay Kapoor (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, CVV, Prof. T Asokan (Dean–Academics, CVV), Prof. Gireesh Kumar (Dean–Research, CVV), Dr. Sunitha Granthee (Dean–Life Long Learning and Wellness, CVV), Dr. Rajendran Perumal (Director–Accreditation and Quality Systems, CVV), Mr. Ananthanarayan Iyer (Chief Coordinating Officer, CVV) shared their views during the programme.
The main objective of the programme was to empower the faculty members with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive transformative change, enhancing their professional development and elevating Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth to a world-class university. The thrust areas of the programme included curriculum design, promoting pedagogical innovations, research collaborations and life-long learning. Additionally, the programme emphasized the need for institutions to establish and maintain robust and sustainable infrastructure, including state-of-the-art facilities, digital resources, and research centres.
This was followed by an interactive session. Participants expressed a strong desire to contribute their expertise and strength to drive a positive change and actively shape the university’s journey towards excellence. The programme ended with a summary report by Dr. Soumya (Director of Strategic Initiatives, CVV) and Dr. Vinod R. R. (Director of Training, Internship and Placement Officer, CVV). The programme was coordinated by Dr. Abha Mohan (Assistant Dean).
