Dr. Manjula Iyer (Associate Professor, School of Contemporary Knowledge Systems) was the keynote speaker and chair for the technical session at the National Conference on ‘IFRS Convergence and Adoption in India’ organised by the Department of Commerce of Santhigiri College of Computer Sciences, Thodupuzha (Idukki District), Kerala, on 28 October 2022.
Dr. Manjula spoke on explained the need for such convergence of IFRS in a country like India which permits stakeholders to compare the performance of companies globally. Further, she opined that in this world of globalisation, the world has become an economic village and numerous MNCs are establishing their business in various countries and India is a hub for that. Also, more and more Indian companies are listed on overseas stock exchanges. Therefore, knowledge of IFRS, its convergence and adoption is the need of the hour.
