Prof. Gauri Mahulikar was invited to deliver a talk on Gitarahasya and Bal Gangadhar Tilak on the occasion of the centenary year of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, the parent institute of Sathye College, Vile Parle, Mumbai, on 5 December 2020. The lecture series was organised by the college and veteran scholars were invited to deliver talks on different aspects of Tilak’s personality and his contribution to society and Indology. The lecture was streamed live on YouTube, and watched by people from around the globe. On 6 December the event was reported by Maharashtra Times.
Prof. Mahulikar participated in a panel discussed on the Mahabharata war, at the Mythological Festival organised by Mythopia, Mumbai, on 12 and 13 December 2020. The other panellists were Shri Pradip Bhattacharya, an independent researcher and Prof. B. N. Patnaik, Professor of English from IIT Kanpur.
On 13 December 2020, Prof. Mahulikar presented ‘Ayurveda and Advaita Vedanta’ at a panel discussion organised by the Advaita Academy. She brought to the fore similarities in the concepts of Advaita Vedanta pertaining to the creation of the elemental world, the nature of Purusha and the concept of Moksha in the Caraka Samhita, especially Sarirasthana.
Prof. Mahulikar spoke on ‘Vishwagunadarsha Champu’ at the ‘Vande Jagajjanani’ programme started by Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, Vile Parle, Mumbai, on the occasion of the centenary year of the school. Being an alumna of the school, it was an emotional and fulfilling experience for her.
