  • On 12 July 2021 Prof. Gauri Mahulikar recorded two short videos in English and Hindi on the value, ‘Courage’ for Hema Foundation, Mumbai. The Foundation is an NGO working for the value education of school children. Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth has signed an MoU with the Hema Foundation for the same.

  • Prof. Mahulikar spoke on ‘Concept of Speech in the light of Vak Sukta of the Rigveda’ on 17 July 2021. The talk was organised by Dr. Narendra Joshi, Project Director, India on the March, SACAR, Vivekananda Prabodhini. She was invited as an expert speaker in the lecture series organised to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.

  • Disha Bharat in coordination with Bangalore University invited Prof. Mahulikar to speak on ‘Indian Culture Developing Cognitive and Creative Abilities in Learners’ on 30 July 2021. She spoke how the diverse Indian culture, the multi-lingual, multi-cuisine culture helps in enhancing cognitive abilities like perception, memory, reasoning and creative abilities like thinking, analysing and creating. She referred to Bloom’s Taxonomy and Indian Darshanas.Disha Bharat is an NGO based in Bengaluru that works with the vision of guiding the youth population in India using value education.

June 2021

  • Prof. Gauri Mahulikar spoke in Sanskrit on ‘New Initiatives at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth’ (शास्त्राध्ययने नवाचारः) on 10 June 2021 at Karnataka Samskrit University, Bengaluru. She spoke about the five-fold courses at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) and the innovative methods adopted in teaching them.
  • She conducted a ten-day online camp on ‘A study of Vedic Suktas’ (Part I) from 11 to 20 June 2021. It was a joint initiative of Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) and CVV. After introducing the 14 Vidyasthanas, she dealt with the five main Vedic deities Agni, Indra, Vishnu, Varuna, and Rudra. 182 participants from ten countries participated in this camp.
  • Prof. Gauri gave a valedictory address in Sanskrit on 23 June 2021 at a three-day seminar organised by Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Nagpur and Samskrita Bharati. In her talk, she emphasized the learning outcomes and graduate attributes of pre-degree and degree students, and how teachers need to change their pedagogy while disseminating knowledge.
  • On 25 June 2021, Prof. Gauri spoke on ‘Women Scholars of Vedic Period’. It was in the form of an interview organised by Doyens Media (DIWA). She began with the importance of learning languages, especially Sanskrit. Further, she talked about the basic difference between the Vedic period and the Purana period, and shed light on the women scholars of the Vedic Period (Brahmavadini) such as Ghosha, Lopamudra, Maitreyi and Gargi.

  • On 15 May 2021, Prof. Gauri Mahulikar gave a talk on Bhumisuktam from the Atharvaveda, at an event organised by Sangamtalks, Sarayutrust.org. She started with the Rigvedic deity Dyavaprithivi and elaborately described Bhumi Suktam from the Atharvaveda. How, despite the geographical terrain, types and the changing colours of the earth, people of varied languages and religions reside on earth as one family. The Earth is like a cow, yielding streams of nourishing milk. Human beings therefore must take care of Mother Earth. The one-hour talk was followed by a Q&A session.
  • At Advaita Academy’s month-long Global Festival of Oneness – Celebrating Shankara 2020, Prof. Gauri Mahulikar gave a talk on ‘Brahmasutra’s Anandamayadhikarana: a Critical Study’. She referred to the Panchakosha concept from the Taittiriya Upanishad and quoted different nyayas and critically analysed the topic in the light of the commentary of Adi Sankara.
  • Prof. Mahulkar gave a talk on ‘Omkara: Word and Worship’ during the 5-day Certificate Course on Meditation Techniques II Omkara Meditation’, organised by the Philosophy Department of K. J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai. She spoke on the word aspect of Om and its importance as per the Upanishads. For the practical aspect, she mainly focussed on the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.

  • Dean of Faculty Prof. Gauri Mahulikar gave a special talk on पञ्चकं ना स्मरेन्नित्यम् on 18 April 2021 as a part of Foundation Course on Itihasa Pravesha’. This course was offered to non CVV-ians as a workshop.

  • Dean of Faculty Prof. Gauri Mahulikar delivered a talk on 08 March 2021 on ‘Women in Kalidasa Charitra’. The talk in Hindi was organised by the Sanskrit Parishad on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The Sanskrit Parishad is the Research Institute of Osmania University, Hyderabad.
  • On 30 March 2021, she gave a lecture on ‘Early Sanskrit Lexicography-2, Dhātupāṭha, Gaṇapāṭha and Word Lists in Śikṣās, Prātiśākhyas and Other Ancillary Literature’ at a workshop on ‘The Tradition of Sanskrit Kośas (Lexicons)’ organised by Deccan College, Pune.
February 2021
  • Hema Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ram Ratna Global, Mumbai, invited Prof. Gauri Mahulikar to be a Chief Guest at a webinar on ‘Inner Harmony for Inner Peace’ by the Associate Academic Director of the Hema Foundation. This event was conducted on 3 February 2021 as a part of the launch of their digital platform ‘Hem Virtues’. These weekly webinars are held to supplement value education amongst children.
  • On 5 February 2021, Prof. Mahulikar gave a talk on ‘Vishwagunadarsha Champu’ at the ‘Vande Jagajjanani’ programme organised by Parle Tilak Vidyalaya, Vile Parle, Mumbai as a part of the centenary celebrations of the School. Being an alumni of the school, it was a special occasion for Prof. Mahulikar.
  • BBC interviewed Prof. Mahulikar on 11 February 2021 regarding the global resurgence of interest in Sanskrit. It was a short interview via Zoom in which she was asked to talk about Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth’s role in supporting the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) roll out of teaching Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Systems in schools. She was also asked to share her views on the relevance of Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Traditions in modern India and the world.
  • Sanskar Bharati, Mumbai, invited Prof. Mahulikar to speak on the theme ‘Ideological Thoughts of Ram Reflected in the Ramayan’ on two consecutive Sunday evenings, 14 and 21 February 2021, at 6 p.m. each day. Both the speeches were in Hindi. Prof. Mahulikar spoke on ‘Vishwanayak Ram’ as a part of the series on ‘Punyakatha Shriramanchi’.  The lectures were telecast on the ‘Kala Bharatiyam’ Facebook page and the ’Kala Bharatiyam’ YouTube channel of Sanskar Bharati, Konkan Prant.
  • Prof. Mahulikar was the Guest Expert at the 12th session of ‘The Young Researchers Forum‘ jointly organised by Nrithyodaya, The Academy of Performing Arts, Mumbai, and the ‘Centre of Excellence – Art and Culture’ of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, Chennai. This was streamed live on Facebook.

  • On the occasion of the 32nd Gyan Yagna, Prof. Gauri Mahulikar (Dean, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth) was invited to speak on ‘Vivekachudamani and Anubandha Chatushtaya’ on 21 January 2021. The talk was in Hindi. The event was organised by Somaiya Vidyavihar University and eminent scholars were invited to speak at the series of talks. The lecture was live on YouTube, watched by people from around the globe.

  • Prof. Mahulikar spoke on ‘Reflection of Dharma in Panchatantra’ at the Prof. Dr. Sreepad Bhat Memorial Webinar on 22 January 2021. The theme of the webinar was ‘Gleanings from the Indian Religions, Philosophical Traditions and Dharmaśāstra’. It was organised by Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune.

Prof. Mahulikar was also invited to give the valedictory speech at the closing ceremony.
