CVV’s Music Club students performed at Malliyoor Sree Mahaganapathy Kshethram on Tuesday, 5th December 2023 as a part of 60-day long Malliyoor Ganesha Sangeetotsavam which started on 17th November 2023. They had the privilege of performing in the prime slot of 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM.
The performance commenced with a Veena concert by Sneha Gomathy (second year B.A. Sanskrit). Sneha opened her concert with Shakti Ganapathim, a composition by Muthayyabhagavatar in raga Ganbheera Natta. This was followed by Vijayambike in Raga Vijayanagari set to Desadi talam and Mariveregati in raga Anandabhairavi set to Misrachapu talam. Nammivachina in Raga Kalyani packed with Raga Alapana, Tanam and Swaraprastharam was a powerful presentation and was the main presentation of the concert. She concluded with Bho Sambho in Raga Revati.
This was followed by a group presentation by Vinamra Herle (third year B.A. Sanskrit), Gaayathri G. (first year B.A. Sanskrit), Samskruthi Shasthri (third year B.A. Sanskrit), Aishwarya Khaparde (third year B.A. Sanskrit), and Hridya S. (CVV alumina). They presented some beautiful bhajans ‘Sura niragasaho’, ‘Vaje mrudanga’, ‘Guruvige, ‘Shiva bhola’, ‘Bansi dhara kanhaiya’, ‘vittala yere’, ‘Nache panduranga’, ‘Nandanandana radhe shyama- namavali’ and concluded with a ‘Kalinga Narthana thillana’ in Gambheeranatta.
The students were accompanied by Vid. Rajesh Mariyappally on the Violin and Vid. Shinu Gopinath on the Mridangam.
