The new state-of-the-art facility of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University was inaugurated on Sunday, 12th May 2024, which was also the auspicious day of Adi Sankara Jayanti.
The facility was inaugurated by the Chancellor of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda Saraswati, the global head of Chinmaya Mission, in the presence of Founding Chancellor Swami Tejomayananda, and Swmai Viviktananda Saraswati, Head, Chinmaya Mission Kerala. Managing Trustee of CVV Trust, Dr. AppaRao Mukkamala, welcomed the gathering, while the Vice Chancellor expressed the vote of thanks.
In his address, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda said that Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda’s vision and dream for education—of bridging Indian knowledge with contemporary knowledge—was becoming a reality with CVV. He emphasized that we should be proud of our Indian roots and rich cultural heritage. He likened the inaugural function to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya in January 2024. Swami Chinmayananda’s 108th birthday (8 May) falls exactly 108 days after the consecration ceremony, and that we are blessed to have inaugurated the facility in that period.
Before the inauguration, Swami Saradananda Saraswati, from Chinmaya International Foundation, performed Ganesh puja, Saraswat puja, and guru paduka pooja.
The 80-acre facility at Onakkoor is a milestone in the journey of Chinmaya Mission. The facility has academic blocks, hostels for boys and girls, and other amenities meticulously designed to enhance the learning experience for students.
Donors, Executive Secretary of the CVV Trust Shri. N. M. Sundar, other trustees, Provost Prof. Sudheer Babu Yarlagadda, Dean Academics and Registrar In-Charge Prof. T. Ashokan, faculty, staff and students attended the grand function. During the function, the donors who have made this remarkable facility a reality were honoured.
The event ended with a gala lunch at the new annakshetra.
