CVV Students and Faculty Perform at Chembai Sangeetholsavam 2023

Students and faculty of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth performed at “Chembai Sangeetolsavam 2023” held at Guruvayoor Temple, Kerala, on 14th November 2023.

The music club students of CVV’s Bharata Society along with four faculty performed at the prestigious venue. The opening performance was group singing by Dr. Manjula Iyer (Assistant Dean and Associate Professor), Dr. Bindusree A. R. (Assistant Professor), Dr. Reshmi N. G. (faculty, CVV IST) and two students Rheshika Sudhesh, (third year B.Com.) and Ananya Hariharan (second year, B.A.B.Ed. English) with the enchanting ‘Ganeshapancharatnam’ in Raga Malika with ragas Hamsadhwani, Malahari, Kalyanavasantam, Kuntalavarali, and Madyamavati.

The solo rendition of Tyagaraja Kriti-s ‘Adamodigalade’ in Charukesi raga by Swasthika Suresh (second year, M.Sc. Applied Psychology) and ‘Bantureeti koluvu’ in Hamsanadam by Varalakshmi Haridas (second year B.Sc. Applied Psychology) was followed by a composition of Mysore Vasudevchar, ‘Mama hridaye viharadayalo’ in Reetigawla raga set to Khanda triputa tala by Dr. P. N. Prabhavathy (Assistant Professor), captivated the audience. The session concluded on a high note with the spiritually uplifting Todaya Mangalam of ‘Hari Mhana Tumhi’ in raga Brindavanasaranga.

The two-week-long Chembai Sangeetholsavam, the world-famous annual music festival, with over musicians offering sangeeta aradhana to Lord Guruvayurappan culminates on the auspicious Guruvayoor Ekadashi day.

Dr. Manjula R. Iyer and Dr. P. N. Prabhavathy were the faculty coordinators for the programme.
