Continuing with CVV’s School Outreach webinar series, the Admissions team conducted three sessions in January 2021 focussing on Higher Education and Career Guidance.
On 23 January 2021, the class 12 students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro, participated in a session facilitated by Shri Arun Krishnadas (Manager Student Affairs, CVV). An INFOSYS trained facilitator, he has conducted leadership and motivational training in several colleges. With his youthful demeanour, he connected well with the group of 211 students. Sensitive to the young minds, he cited various examples that the students can identify with, mapping them to emerging fields. He stressed on the essential skills that one must equip oneself with, in readiness for future trends.
Towards the end of the session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Nagaraj Neerchal addressed the students encouraging them to follow their passion. He stressed that it is only when we do something we like that we can give it our 100% and become a success. Further, he urged the students to cultivate the habit of reading and writing and being open to learning throughout their life.
On 26 January 20221, two back-to-back sessions were conducted for students of six Chinmaya Vidyalaya schools of Trivandrum in two groups. Group I had 171 students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya Naruvamoodu, Kollam and Attukal and Group II had 95 students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vazhuthacaud, Kunnumpuram and Kattakada.
With his passion towards education and experience in training, Dr. Pramod Dinakar (Assistant Professor of Education, School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems) has a natural flair for connecting with students and kept them as well as their teachers engaged throughout. He walked the students through a step-by-step thought process by guiding them to examine their personality and move on to the essentials for goal setting with a strong foundation and the right mentors in place. He proceeded to give information on various options for higher studies in the popular fields and enumerated some of the future skills to be adapted. He also highlighted some of the options that will come into play once the NEP is implemented and mapped these to the programmes and methodology already in place at Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
