The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), as part of the National Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2023, conducted the CVV Internal Hackathon on Wednesday, 4 th October 2023, at the CEG campus of the University. The event provided an exclusive platform for students from various engineering branches to showcase their innovative solutions to real-world problems. It aimed to foster an environment of creativity and problem-solving that aligned with SIH’s mission to address critical challenges faced by government bodies, industries, and organisations. The ideas delivered by the various teams included a diverse range of solutions for the ongoing problems in society. These included methods for predicting avalanches and floods using technically developed algorithms, the facilitation of medical deliveries using radio-controlled drones, environmental monitoring systems, tools to assess the quality of textbooks, and strategies for promoting
locally-made products.
The distinguished jury panel comprised Dr. Archana Pandey, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida; Dr. Anishin Raj, Lead, Learning and Development at IBS Software; and Mr. Basil Skaria, Specialised Programmer at Infosys. With extensive experience spanning academia and industry, the panel provided invaluable insights, constructive feedback, and commendations to the participating teams for their compelling presentations.
The CVV Internal Hackathon served as a remarkable platform for students and contributed to the broader objectives of the National Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2023. Dr. Savitesh Madhulika Sharma, Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics Engineering, delivered the inaugural address and welcomed the attendees. Dr. Anand H. S., Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Resmi N. G., Faculty Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and Ms. Niveditha S. Nair, IIC Student Coordinator, emphasised the significance of the event conducted as part of the National Smart India Hackathon 2023. Mr. Ramana M. D., IIC Student Coordinator, was the master of ceremonies. At the end of the programme, certificates and prizes were awarded by Dr. Y. Sudheer Babu, Principal, CVV Institute of Science and Technology, Ernakulam.
