We are delighted to announce a significant milestone at Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, as Smt. Lakshmi, a research scholar has completed her Ph.D. programme and submitted her thesis. This ground-breaking work, titled Brāhmasphuṭasiddhānta (Chapter XII) with the commentary of Pṛthūdakasvāmin – A Critical Edition and Translation, marks the first Ph.D. thesis from our esteemed university. She has carried out her research work under Dr. Anil Narayanan Assistant Professor, School of Linguistics and Literary Studies.
About Research Supervisor Dr. Anil Narayanan N.: Guiding Excellence
Dr. Anil Narayanan N., a distinguished faculty member and passionate scholar, served as the guiding force behind Smt. Lakshmi’s research journey. Joining CVV in 2017, Dr. Anil’s academic pursuits began with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, followed by a Master’s in Sanskrit Literature and an M.Phil. in Kerala Stotra Literature from the University of Calicut.
Dr. Anil’s doctoral research, titled ‘Critical edition of Parameśvara’s commentary on Līlāvatī,’ earned him acclaim from the University of Calicut. With over 15 articles and several books to his credit, he is a dynamic researcher and the Principal Investigator of an AICTE-IKS wing-sponsored project on the ‘Impact of Aksharasloka on improving cognitive abilities.’
His expertise spans Classical Sanskrit literature, poetics, Sanskrit lexicography, and Manuscriptology. Dr. Anil contributes significantly to Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, where he imparts knowledge in Lexicography, Indian Mathematics, and Sanskrit Literature.
Together, Smt. Lakshmi and Dr. Anil exemplify the spirit of academic excellence at Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, fostering a culture of research, learning, and innovation.
