Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) ensures a safe and healthy environment for all its students and staff. It follows a strict no-ragging policy to deter any form of ragging on campus.

Anti-ragging Day was observed in an online function at CVV on 17 August 2023. The programme commenced with prayers led by CVV students Ms. Hridya S. (B.A. Sanskrit) and Ms. Aswathy Subhash (M.Sc. Applied Psychology).

The welcome address was delivered by the Registrar Dr. Rahul Sharma who provided insights on what is ragging, and the effects and repercussions of ragging. He also stressed the persons to be contacted if someone is being ragged. Further, he elaborated on the various laws pertaining to ragging and the various sections under which criminal proceedings can be carried out against the perpetrators. The Registrar also emphasised creating a friendly environment for new students and emphasized the various activities and measures regularly taken by CVV to keep ragging in check and assure that students are safe, in line with the University’s policy of zero tolerance for ragging.

This was followed by the Presidential address delivered by the Dean of Academics Prof. Asokan T. The Dean delved into the psychological, social, political, economic, cultural, and academic dimensions ragging. He mentioned that even a simple-looking task like completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of seniors is also an aspect of academics-related ragging prevalent in many institutions. So also, any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a junior student by senior students is ragging from an economic dimension.

A 16-minute video from the UGC Anti-Ragging website was played. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Arun Krishnadas, Assistant Registrar (Academics).
