A Micro-Teaching Experience for Integrated BEd Students

The School of Ethics, Governance, Culture and Social Systems (EGCS) conducted a micro-teaching session on 5 January 2023 from 10 am to 1 pm for the fifth semester BABEd English and BScBEd Mathematics students. Eight students took classes on eight different teaching skills. The Education, English, and Mathematics faculties and third semester students observed and assessed the classes.

The concept of micro-teaching is used to help student teachers learn the art of teaching. It’s a practice of learning specific skills using a scaled-down teaching technique that reduces the complexities of teaching in a standard classroom. The concept of micro-teaching allows prospective teachers to improve themselves by reviewing their performance and receiving feedback. Aspiring teachers must understand the definition of micro-teaching before taking up a teaching training programme.
