Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) launched its two-year full-time programme, MA Public Policy and Governance (MA PPG) in association with the Centre for Public policy and Research (CPPR), Kochi on 2nd September,2019.
Giving it an auspicious start, the inaugural function began with the lighting of lamp. The occasion was graced by Prof. Dr. Nagaraj Neerchal, Vice Chancellor, CVV, Dr. D Dhanuraj, Director, CPPR and Prof. K.C Abraham, Academic Director, CPPR. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nagaraj Neerchal, while highlighting the vision and mission of ‘Chinmaya University’, underlined its relevance in contemporary India and its global outlook. Dr. Gauri Mahulikar, the Dean of Faculties, CVV, addressed the gathering through the live video-conferencing and emphasized the need and relevance of the programme. Dr. D. Dhanuraj revealed the gap in the existing Indian academic landscape relating to public policy programmes and emphasized the uniqueness of MA PPG. Prof. Nithin Ramakrishnan, Faculty, CVV, discussed the idea and aim behind the de-novo programmes and gave numerous examples of integration of Indian knowledge systems and its application in modern context. Dr. Vanisree Ramanathan, the Programme Director of MA PPG highlighted the structure of the programme, its road map and the expectations from the students. The occasion witnessed the assemblage of the members of CVV and CPPR along with parents and students.
