Shastri Jayanti and Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Satya and Ahimsa are among the most unique principles offered to humanity by Indian knowledge systems. Lal Bahadur Shastriji was the epitome of Satya. That degree of steadfast honesty and integrity of character is becoming rarer and rarer by the day. He is an inspiration for us to look up to, as a generation which has the responsibility to continue the nation building programmes envisioned by him.

If Shastriji was the champion of Satya, then Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi  was the epitome of Ahimsa. His iconic fight against the British empire based on this one seemingly simple value inspired countless other leaders and heroes of the world including Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jr.

On 2 October, the jayanti of these two stalwarts of our freedom struggle and political movement, CVV honoured their memory through a melodious flute rendition of ‘Vaishnav jana toh’. The touching performance was given by our Integrated Masters student Jaykishan Hingu. He is the disciple of Pt. Rupak Kulkarni,  guru at the School of Kalayoga, CNBG campus, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth.
