Dr. Sandhya Shankar, a young linguist and Assistant Professor at the Chinmaya Vishvavidyapeeth, Kerala has worked on concept formation in children, specifically the concept of time. Her research, as with the current trend, emphasises the role of culture in cognitive and language development in children.

Prof. Nandita Chaudhary, is an internationally recognised Child Development expert, who has contributed to several national and International academic endeavours. She has published widely and has been on the Editorial Board of several International journals.
Overview:
Concept formation is a part of cognitive and language development in the growing child. How does culture influence the concept formation, from concrete naming to symbolisation and relating concepts. The webinar will provide a fascinating glimspe of the role of the cultures and languages in developing children. As cultures transition, what have we gained and lost in the last 6-7 decades.
