Sanskrit Studies in the 21st Century - National Students Seminar

The School of Linguistics and Literary Studies is organising a National Seminar on ‘Sanskrit Studies in the 21st Century’ on 06 April 2022. The event, organised by the students of Sanskrit, intends to provide a venue for researchers and students of Sanskrit from across India to present papers in both Sanskrit and English on topics related to the main theme and the sub-themes listed below. This will be an excellent opportunity to present new ideas and viewpoints on Sanskrit studies, which is crucial for a well-rounded graduating experience especially when students are getting guidance from experts on the board. 

Objectives 

  • To provide a platform that encourages young researcher minds to study various facets of Sanskrit and come up with new and innovative ways to promote and preserve the language.

  • To showcase how Sanskrit makes opportunities accessible in diverse fields in the modern world.

Subthemes 

  • Sanskrit in the Past:- Papers related to ancient sciences and Sanskrit, Sanskrit and Philosophy, Sanskrit and scriptures may be submitted.  

  • Sanskrit studies in the Present: Papers related to Sanskrit and entertainment(media),

Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and Contemporary Knowledge Systems (CKS), Sanskrit and modern literature may be submitted. 

  • Sanskrit Studies for the Future: Papers related to Sanskrit and modern technology may be submitted. 

Participants: UG and PG students, PhD scholars 

Venue and Mode: Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth campus, Kochi, in a hybrid mode.

Guidelines for Abstract and Paper Submission

All submissions to the seminar should be in Times New Roman font, size 12 with a 1-inch margin on all sides, ranging between 2500 and 3000 words excluding tables, figures, and references. The MLA style should be followed for in-text citations and references.
