March 8 is celebrated as the International Women’s Day across the world, every year. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is #EmbracingEquity. Gender equality is a human right, yet in our world, men and women continue to suffer disparities in access to opportunities and decision-making power. Women’s rights and chances to reach their full potential are crucial not just for achieving gender equality, but also for meeting a wide range of international development goals. Gender equity lays the groundwork for gender equality. In order to achieve gender equality, we need to change the narrative and focus away from fixing women and put it squarely where it belongs–fixing the system. As part of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth’s International Women’s Day celebrations, we’ll be having Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women with us on this prestigious occasion. The event will be held on Friday, 10th March 2023, at Chidvilas, CEG Campus, Veliyanad.
