Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth will be celebrating University Day on 16th January, 2019. On this occasion, we are fortunate to honour Dr. M.S.Valiathan, the world renowned cardiac surgeon with Chinmaya Pratibha Puraskara.
Dr. M.S.Valiathan is a world renowned cardiac surgeon and the designer of Chitra TTK heart valve and the recipient of the prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awarded by the Government of India. After a 20-year stint at the Chitra Thirunal Institute, Dr. Valiathan served as the Vice Chancellor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Following his retirement from MAHE, Dr. Valiathan studied Charaka, Sushruta and Vagbhata, known as the Ayurvedic Trimurti, and has written several books including the well-known “The Ayurvedic Inheritance of India”.
