3-day National Hybrid Conference ‘Kerala’s Contribution to Vedanta’

Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV) and Chinmaya International Foundation (CIF) along with the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) are conducting a 3-day National Hybrid Conference ‘Kerala’s Contribution to Vedanta’ from 2nd to 4th February 2024, at Adi Sankara Nilayam, Veliyanad, Ernakulam.

Kerala has seen luminaries in Vedanta from ancient to modern times belonging to various streams and schools. Advaita Vedanta tradition, which is a predominant one among the Vedantic traditions has seen various saints and philosophers from Kerala such as Adi Sankaracharya, Padmapada, Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan, Chattambi Swamikaḷ, Nilakantha Tirthapada, Sri Narayaṇa Guru, Tapovan Maharaj, Svāmi Chinmayananda, Kashikananda Giri, Swami Ranganathananda, Swami Bhumananda Tirtha …and more.

Along with the Advaita Vedanta tradition, there also emerged a Siddha Tradition and Shiva Advaita Tradition. Thinkers from these traditions are not known to many. Saints such as Parappur Shiva Yogini Amma, Mannur Swamigal, Siddhashrama Shivananda Siddhayogi… are some such thinkers.

The conference will bring together eminent scholars from across the nation/world to discuss and celebrate the invaluable contributions of the saints mentioned above and philosophers of Kerala through their lives, works and teachings.
