Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth Invites Applications for Faculty Positions in International Trade/ Commercial Law (Law)
Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) is a Deemed to be University in the ‘de novo’ category, established by Chinmaya Mission, with a vision of blending Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with Contemporary Knowledge Systems (CKS). CVV invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (Senior)/Associate Professor of International Trade and Commercial Laws from driven individuals with a high potential for research and energetic teaching. Persons with advanced academic standing and extensive experience in teaching, research, publications and academic administration may be considered for the position of Professor. Applicants who have expert knowledge of International Trade/Commercial Laws, especially the practice-oriented knowledge, would be given preference. A passionate understanding of India’s position in forums such as WTO/UNCTAD will be highly desirable. Also considering the University vision as such, applicants must be able to relate to Indian Philosophy, Culture and Knowledge Systems, especially those derived from indigenous texts and practices, and must be able to adapt or incorporate such knowledge into their pedagogy and research. Qualifications: As per the UGC norms and regulations. While PhD (in Law or related subjects), 55% Marks in Master's Programme in Law (LL.M.), 8 Years of experience, 7 recognized publications is the minimum required qualifications for applying to the post of Associate Professor, candidates with demonstrable degree/specialization in the field of international trade law shall be preferred. Others with LL.M. in the said field along with N.E.T may apply for Assistant Professor posts.
Job Description: Teaching International Trade related courses at post-graduate levels, teaching of general law subjects at certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels; research supervision at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels; production of high-quality academic publications, and participation in the affairs of the University define the job profile. Selected applicants would be required to report for duty by February 2020.
Location: All positions are based at Ernakulam campus.
Pay and allowances: At par with UGC prescribed scales.
