Life at CVV

It is not a rich curriculum alone that shapes the students into successful individuals, but the atmosphere as a whole that provides a fertile ground for the students to unfold their inner potential. The three campuses of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth provide just this.

Chinmaya Prajna Pratishthanam Facility

‘Prajna Pratishthanam’ – CVV’s facility in the heart of the city at Warriam road, is off the city’s main road artery – M G Road. It is surrounded by prominent landmarks of Ernakulam such as Marine Drive and Subhash Park. Situated in the hub of educational activity, it is in the vicinity of St. Teresa’s College, Maharaja College, St. Albert’s College, Government Law College, Sacred Heart College and so on. 

The facility has a well-equipped computer lab, an auditorium and a library. The classrooms are fully ICT enabled and the campus has WIFI connectivity for students. All these elements come together to create the stage for an exciting and inspiring learning experience. The facility is being upgraded to accommodate 1000 students over the next three years. 

At present, the BCom (Hons.), BBA and the BSc and MSc Applied Psychology programmes are being offered here. Over the next two years, IT programmes, LLM, MA PPG will also be added.

Location & Accessibility

The centre is well-connected. It is less than a kilometre from the Kochi Metro Station, Ernakulam South railway station and bus stand.

Beyond The Classroom

Students on campus are encouraged to explore and learn through various activities that help them tune in and explore their potential be it on or off the campus.

Annual inter-collegiate fest ‘Jabagadadash’: Exclusively hosted by the students, this annual fest is open to all colleges across India with a variety of events to participate in. CVVians, conceptualise the events, raise funds, design, promote, interact with student communities and overall organise the fest.
CVV Fests: To showcase their talents, CVVians participate in the on-campus, annual cultural fest, literary and fine art fest.
Annual Sports Event: An annual intra-mural sports event is organised for single, double and group participation in various events like Badminton, Throwball, Foot Cricket, Football, Cricket, Chess and so on.
CVV’s School of Kalayoga (performing arts) also hosts the annual Naada Bindu Festival of Arts, an annual residential music and dance festival that aims to facilitate improved understanding of the arts.
Academic Event: Different schools of CVV come together for CVV's flagship annual, international conference on New Frontiers in Sanskrit and Indic Knowledge (NFSI) which explores contemporary challenges from the perspective of Indian Knowledge Traditions (IKT).
CVV has collaborated with renowned NGOs and organisations such as Weeramantry Centre for Peace, Justice and International Law and Seva Bharati where students explore the application or implementation of theoretical learnings.
Field Trips and outdoor Experiential Learning: Being in tune with nature and gaining knowledge of the community through travel has been a part of our ancient culture. This is further imbibed in the students through field visits and outdoor activities that are often a part of the curriculum.
Community Service: The SEVA (Service, Empathy, Virtue and Attentiveness) project at CEG provides opportunities for the students and faculty to together reach out and serve the local community. The CSR programme at CNBG is a rural community-based development initiative that provides free training in music, to children from the neighbouring villages. Over a hundred children across thirty villages benefit from this programme.
Clubs and Extracurricular Participation: Students are encouraged to initiate and participate in clubs and societies that are run entirely by students with faculty support when needed. Some of the clubs are: Bharata Society: The first cultural club of the University was formed in April 2018. Named after the famed author of the Natyashastra, the Bharata Society brings together students interested in both fine arts and performing arts. This club annually conducts cultural programmes named for performing arts and fine arts.
CUSEC (Chanakya Utility Society and Entrepreneurship Cell): An initiative by the UG students aimed at providing them with a platform to ideate, innovate and reflect upon varied entrepreneurial and managerial skills. The cell organises events that help students in expanding their knowledge of modern organisation and nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship.
CAD (Creative and Debating Society): Another brainchild of the UG students which aims to make CVV an intellectually vibrant and creatively stimulating campus through fizzing poetry, stunning open mics and stand up comedies, creative writing events and thought-provoking debates.
Chayachitra: Students interested in photography came together to launch this photography club recently. Workshops, photo walks, and fun activities related to photography are some of the things this club organises.
Grantha Club: Book lovers at CVV get together to read aloud, share, discuss and debate on things they’ve read in the Grantha Club.
