Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, the University for Sanskrit & Indic Traditions envisioned by Swami Chinmayanandaji with its headquarters at Adi Sankara Nilayam, the birth home of Adi Shankaracharya, dedicated to bridging Indian Knowledge Traditions (IKT), with the main campus at Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula (CEG), Kochi and a constituent-campus at Chinmaya Naada Bindu Gurukula (CNBG), Pune commences its academic programmes in July 2017. The University will initially start with courses on Sanskrit, Indian Knowledge Traditions as also bridging them with Contemporary subjects and Classical Hindustani Music.
In years to come, the university will expand its canvas with new campuses and new academic areas. Gradually they will cover all the streams of knowledge contained in the caturdasa-vidya-sthanam. Developing such a wide canvas encompassing vast knowledge fields, requires vast resources. The progress that the university will make in future will sustain research, learning and preservation of Indian cultural heritage. All contributions to the university will go a long way in strengthening its foundation and building up the superstructure befitting the knowledge fields. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna states that even a leaf offered with love is dear to Him. We invoke all benefactors to contribute with all their might and aid in creating a glorious future in higher education for generations to come on the edifice of our ancient knowledge traditions. Little by little, fills the pot!
Thank you very much for your kind support. May Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji’s Grace and Blessings be with you.
