The logo of the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, a composite of 5 elements, enfolds within it a luminous world that results from the transformation of the individual who melds the twin elements of knowledge and spirituality – an inner and an external transformation – to become a valuable and positive member of society. The logo symbolises the fully integrative cycle by which such a transformation is effected. The pursuit of knowledge, indicated by the open book, reaches its fulfilment in the transformed individual. The lotus in blossom symbolizes the transformed individual. Such transformation of the personality is made possible only by an education that is imbued with the spiritual vision, which resonates in the Om. The luminous earth indicates the possibilities for the future of our world, which we believe such individuals can create. At the very heart of the logo is the signature Om of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda that symbolizes the holistic vision of Spirituality, Purity, Applicability and Innovation – the very Core Principles for the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth. The Vision for the University, ‘vidyayā saṁskṛtiḥ – Culture through knowledge’, composed by Swami Tejomayananda, Founder and Chancellor Emeritus of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth and Former Head of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide, is at the base of the logo declaring the vision and mission of the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth.
